How it all Started....

2007 was the first year for Cinderella’s Closet. It’s an effort inspired by a teenager I met while shopping at a consignment store. I overheard her ask a clerk if the beautiful, gently-used gown on display could be put on hold while she figured out how to pay for it.

She asked her foster mother for the money, but a prom dress is an extra in life, and its price was out of their reach. Seeing her disappointment, I bought the dress for her. As tears flooded her eyes, she thanked me and said she would look “just like Cinderella.” For one day, a little girl was transformed into a princess.

I was transformed as well. Shortly thereafter, Cinderella’s Closet became a ministry of Immanuel United Methodist Methodist Church. Since 2007 we have helped over 900 girls find the dress of their dreams and renewed confidence in themselves.

This year we are proud to announce our expansion - there will be 3 locations for Cinderella's Closet. In 2010, we will help almost 1,000 find the Dress of Their Dreams.

Northern Kentucky - Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, KY - March 19 & 20, 2010

Central Kentucky - First United Methodist Church, Frankfort, KY - March 6, 2010

Vineyard - Vineyard Church, Cincinnati, OH - April 2010

Help to Turn Dresses into Dreams and volunteer with Cinderella's Closet. We would love to have your help.
